After wintering my plecos in home aquariums, I added them back to the pond. The first
pleco (Pterygoplichthys multiradiatus), which started out at 14cm when I introduced him
to the pond on April 30,2008 is now 25cm as I add him back into the pond for another
growth spurt:
I also am putting in an albino pleco that started at 6cm last year and is now 12cm:

I couldn't understand why my water was greenish. My filter was working and the UV was on
and I even replaced the bulb a week ago. So I opened up the UV sleeve:
I took some anti-mineral liquid and some scotch-brite and cleaned off the glass that
protects the internal UV bulb:

Here are some of my koi after the winter. The largest is a 40cm white and yellow koi
that will only eat when I place the food inside its mouth:

I cleaned out my pond for the winter and came across 2 fish that I never put in there.
I have 9 koi, 1 sarasa and 1 comet goldfish and suddenly these 2 fish appear:
My theory is that when I bought some new Bacopa Monnieri (water plant) in May some
Carassius carassius
fish eggs were
attached. They have grown very fast and one is 8cm and the other 5cm - all in a few months.
Here are 2 pictures of my current koi:
And remember my pleco that started at 25cm in April? Here he is after 6 months - 35cm:

I have 2 medium size koi (35cm each) that appear to be fighting constantly
to be the alpha male of the pond. After every feeding they lip fight as can be
seen in this Youtube clip:

I have removed my 3 plecos from the pond and am "wintering" them in my aquarium.
Here are two pictures (one is 23cm and the other is 26cm):

If you are like me and you bought your UV pressure filter many years ago, you will have found that by
now you cannot find the screw in UV bulbs. But it is easy to find PL UV bulbs all over Amazon or Ebay.
So i decided to do a bit of filter surgery. Here you can see a picture of the filter housing before
the surgery:
And here you can see that I am now able to place an 11W UV bulb whereas previously I was limited to 9W.
This includes the transformer:
